Description About the position: This position is located at the Emery Lanes Bowling Center on Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan.Performs and/or assists in the operations, maintenance and programs of the bowling facility. Ensures smooth operation of the bowling facility at night, on weekends and holiday's to include snack bar, pro shop, bar/lounge, and slot machines. Assigns lanes to customers, operates control console, cleans and maintains rental shoes and sells items in the pro shop. Conducts inventories of pro shop items; may be required to inventory snack bar resale items, facility equipment and other supply items. Demonstrates and instructs participants on the proper use of equipment and provides guidance and instruction on bowling techniques. Informs supervisor of equipment malfunctions as well as other items needing maintenance or repair. May supervise, lead, oversee and/or coordinate the daily activities of other employees engaged in the performance of their duties. Assists in advertising and recruiting participants for leagues, tournaments, special events, and open play activities. May be required to schedule and administer these activities in the capacity of league secretary or tournament director. Ensures activities are properly scheduled, facilities are set and rules and regulations are observed. Assures adequate maintenance, sanitation, and cleanliness of the facility and equipment. Cashiers, rings out cash registers, balances cash drawers and makes bank deposits when necessary. Makes security and fire checks. Secures funds container when closing facility. Position is a position of trust.

Qualifying Experience:
Qualifying Experience: Experience which provides knowledge of bowling center operations including rules related to bowling and organization of leagues and tournaments is highly desirable. Must have experience in receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit or other processing of cash items when this includes direct handling of cash items, and use of cash accountability control methods. Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess customer service skills. Prior experience in basic supply is desirable.Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
