JOB TITLE: Food Operations Assistant
BUSINESS TITLE: Fast Casual Food Manager

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: As a facility manager, responsible for the daily operation of assigned fast casual food facility. Coordinates the sale of food items and the preparation and sale of short-order food items. Ensures customer satisfaction through quality food preparation control. Responsible for the efficient functioning of the assigned fast food concept and assumes the responsibility for the security of cash receipts, change fund, cash handling procedures, and MCCS property. Ensures maximum efficiency within the activity through proper ordering, requisitioning, receiving and storage of food, beverages, and supplies. Accepts direct delivery items ensuring item count and prices are accurate and food is received in compliance with current sanitation regulations. Stores food properly to avoid spoilage. Maintains merchandise unit control and direct delivery books to ensure an adequate in-stock position and current prices. Ensures the proper preparation, display, and price marking of food item and adherence to correct receipt and pricing procedures. Prepares and maintains sales records and accountable documents.
Supervises contract workers where contract workers are working, to include assigning work, providing on-the-job training, preparing timesheet and other documents as necessary.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.
Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three years of experience in all phases of food service operations with specialized experience and training in food preparation and ordering of food and supplies.
- A minimum of one year experience supervising operation of restaurant, business operation, or equivalent leadership experience including providing work direction to other employees.
- Be able to obtain a valid health/sanitation training card
- Must have knowledge of basic math and must complete Cash Handling Training Course before handling fund and Refresher Course once per year. Knowledge of cost controls. Ability to work within budgeted guidelines.
- Knowledge of industry trends, policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Programs such as Word, Excel, etc.
- Must have excellent customer service skills and good communication skills orally and in writing.
- Must be able to obtain a current and valid SOFA driver license, travel on an off base is required.
- Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include weekends, holidays, early and late shifts.
