You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES BRANCH, G-3 DIVISION of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing technical expertise in coordination of a comprehensive firefighter training and curriculum program to include: Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE), initiate plans for classroom and practical firefighting courses and evaluate training performance.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Conditions of employment continued:
  • Emergency Medical Technician Basic or State reciprocal to National Registry.
  • NIMS IS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, & 800
  • This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). This position is subject to a pre-employment urinalysis screening and random urinalysis screenings thereafter, in accordance with Executive Order 12564
  • Conforms to the requirements set forth in NFPA 1500, Fire Department Occupational Health and Safety Program
  • This is an Emergency-Essential (E-E) position. The incumbent must agree in writing to continue to perform the duties of the position in the event of an emergency, until relieved by proper authority. This position requires the employee to be screened from military recall status. When appropriate, the employee's dependents will be evacuated from the crisis zone with the same priority as other DoD-sponsored evacuees. This position is required to have an annual health assessment as part of the DoD Civilian Expeditionary Workforce.
  • Successfully pass an annual firefighter's medical physical examination.
  • This position requires a SECRET security clearance. The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
  • Pursuant to 5 CFR 831.902 & 842.802, this position is a secondary administrative position for which experience in a primary firefighting position, or equivalent experience outside the Federal government, is a mandatory prerequisite
