As a Supply Systems Analyst, you will perform a wide variety of duties involving the assessment of supply operations, information technology, and related systems used in the conduct of General Services Administration (GSA) business.

Location of position: Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Office of General Supplies and Services Categories (QS), Office of Supply Chain Management (SCM). Duty location of this position will be determined upon selection.

The Office of Supply Chain Management, which is also known as GSA Global Supply, provides supply chain solutions for the global needs of customers by delivering dependable, reliable and timely supplies at best value.

You will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Performs systemic analysis of supply operations and identifies ways in which automation can enhance or improve program operations. Develops technical findings and recommendations taking into account knowledge of the supply program and the integration of automated technology to further business objectives.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of supply systems; studies diverse technical operations and systems issues; identifies supply business opportunities and areas for improvement (including cost savings and improved systems efficiencies); and develops comprehensive recommendations, along with a proposed action plan.
  • Represents FAS in contacts with vendors and customers to address hardware, software or other information systems specifications, requirements and ongoing needs.
  • Researches and resolves a variety of unusual supply systems problems that arise, necessitating the integration of knowledge of the agency supply program overall with comprehensive technical knowledge.

To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience performing supply system operational functions, providing a high level of customer service, and problem resolution. This experience must include working with foreign military sales; automated supply systems/databases; resolving supply issues and problems; communicating with customers; and recommending system and/or process improvements.
