Description About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located with the Business Operations Flight at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan.
The purpose of this position is to monitor, compile, consolidate and identify trends in problematic areas through daily financial data, inventory reports, and cost of sales analysis and implement corrective action with in the 18 FSS Business Operations Flight. Reports directly to the Chief of Business Operations.

Performs a full range of analysis of NAF food and beverage operation worldwide to identify trends, problem areas, coordinates and implements corrective action. Duties include monitoring daily financial, inventories, and cost of sales. Review, and verify documents; searching for and compile information and data; providing a central source of information; preparing and/or verifying the validity of documents, etc. Reports prepared data to include profit and loss statements, financial statements, and miscellaneous financial reporting data. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of procurement functions, encompassing accounting, data processing, inventory management, supply chain dynamics, and financial management principles. Prepares a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring reports and other documents. Gathers and summarizes information from files and documents for use of inquiries and reporting. Efficiently uses resources available to develop and pro-actively identify business improvement opportunities that reduce operating cost and achieve efficiencies. Completed work is reviewed for overall soundness of approach, feasibility of recommendations, compatibility with other work, or effectiveness in meeting requirements or achieving expected results. Accomplishes assigned special projects, performs reviews and analysis to determine the impact to the food and beverage activity. Based on findings of these reviews/studies, determines actions required to overcome deficiencies and ensures the expeditious accomplishment of required actions and provide continuity or operations and effective support. Effectively maintains electronic files and/or bard copy files. Prepares correspondence to answer and assist in resolving issues, problems and inquires. Uses varied functions of multiple office automation software to produce wide range of documents, formats, etc. Uses Microsoft software to create, copy, edit, sort, retrieve and produce reports to include graphics software to provide graphs and charts for reports and presentations. Transmits and receives documents and messages electronically using a workstation that is networked or linked to other computers or workstations. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have proficiency in the principles and practices of food and beverage operation/or hospitality services. Familiarity with food and beverage inventory management and point of sale systems is highly desirable. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Must be highly organized and a self-starter. Must be able to perform official travel as required and work overtime as mission dictates. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently diagnose financial challenges, develop effective solutions, and implement corresponding financial, cash management, and internal control policies and procedures. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and possess the skill in dealing with internal and external customers.Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
