Description About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Info, Tickets & Tours on Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan.
Routine work is performed under the direction of Lead Recreation Assistant and/or Information Ticket and Travel Manager in the Kadena ITT's local and international recreational tour operations ticket programs. Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: Receives and confirms reservations for on and off-island tours by mail, phone, email and personal contact; sells and logs in a variety of discount tickets; accepts tour payments in person by receiving cash, checks or charge; notifies participants of schedule changes, tour briefings, etc.; post announcements of scheduled activities and answers inquiries about on-island and off island attractions, transportation, and travel locations. At the end of the shift clears the cash register and turns over cash and supporting documents. Prepares and safeguards cash receipts and prepares daily cashier's reports. Makes bank deposits as required. Records and tracks daily tour sales. Responsible for the daily input of data into our future accounts and ticket inventory. Receives telephone calls and visitors, screens and refers callers to appropriate persons. Required to work weekends and holidays as needed. Performs as tour guide or tour escort. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Experience which demonstrates people skills; outgoing and approachable, with excellent customer service skills. Must demonstrate the ability to perform common mathematical problems and make proper change when receiving payments. Clerical work, typing skills and computer knowledge is required. Must be able to read, speak, and write English. Knowledge and understanding of Japanese business customs and courtesy, local tourist attractions and annual special events is highly desirable. Must be available to work an uncommon tour of duty to include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Satisfactory completion of a local files check and National Agency Check required.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
