In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: establishing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive program for environmental services; conducting environmental inspections for compliance in multiple environmental medias; AND assisting with hazardous substance spill response and clean-up.

GS-11:

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting with environmental inspections for compliance in multiple environmental medias; AND assisting with hazardous substance spill response and clean-up.

Conditions of Employment continued:
~ Must obtain and maintain Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification and associated requirements such as occupational health exam clearance and respiratory fit test certification. Access to initial HAZWOPER certification training will be provided by Environmental Affairs Branch.Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:

0401 - GENERAL NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT AND BIOLOGICAL SERIES:
Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

or

Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

OR

1301 - GENERAL PHYSICAL SCIENCE SERIES:
Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.

or

Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.


SUBSTITUTE SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR EDUCATION:

GS-12:
No education substitution

GS-11:
3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree
or
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
